Frequently asked questions
Below you will find a list of the questions that other customers have asked most frequently in the past. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for, please contact us.
Why should you book with Abbey Box Office?
As members of STAR and the TAA we comply with a strict code of conduct regarding the sale of theatre and concert tickets. Thus you are buying tickets from a reputable and trustworthy company.
What is STAR and TAA?
STAR stands for the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers. It is a self regulatory body which operates within guidelines endorsed by the Office of Fair Trading, the British Tourist Authority, the London Tourist Board and the Society of London Theatre.

Members of STAR are required to comply with a code of practice which ensures that they:-
- Clearly identify the face value of the ticket purchased and any additional booking fees
- Highlight any terms and conditions, including transferability, cancellation and viewing restrictions
- Handle bookings in a polite and courteous manner, giving the highest standards of professional service
The Ticket Agents Association is also a self-regulatory body made up of the leading independent West End ticket agents. The association has agreed not to charge more than a 25.7 per cent booking fee on all sales and often charge much less.
How does Abbey Box Office obtain its seats and what makes them special?
Abbey has had its own allocation of seats at every West End theatre since it was founded in 1949. This means that Abbey will often have seats available for a show when the Theatre itself has already sold out. The majority of the seats are top price stalls, but we also have seats in the dress and upper circle.
What happens if for some reason the tickets I buy do not arrive?
Simply phone our head office and we will issue duplicates and leave these tickets care of the theatre box office.
How will we receive our tickets?
Tickets will be despatched by 1st class, recorded delivery or special delivery up to 3 days prior to the performance. Alternatively if your booking is within 3 days we will leave your tickets for collection at any one of our 3 branches in Victoria, Marble Arch or Covent Garden, see our contact us page for our details.
