Seen by more than 55 million people worldwide in 40 countries and in 21 languages, this spectacular adaptation of Victor Hugo's masterpiece continues to thrill audiences night after night.

Show Story

Les Mis the musical covers 20 years of French history, including the Napoleonic wars. It is an epic tale of good, evil, justice, love and religion.

Les Misérables background

Les Misérables opened at the Barbican Theatre, London in 1985 and today plays at the Queen’s Theatre. The musical was composed by Claude-Michel Schőnberg and Alain Boublil. Les Mis has won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Score. Memorable songs include ‘I dreamed a dream’, ‘One Day More’, ‘On My Own’ and ‘Do you hear the people sing?’

Novel values

Les Misérables the musical is based on the French novel by Victor Hugo.
