Show story

Dirty Dancing tells the story of Baby Houseman, a wide-eyed teenager who knows little of love or hardship and Johnny Castle, a man who has fought for everything in life. Fate throws the pair together when Johnny’s dance partner can’t do a show and they fall in love whilst rehearsing. Unfortunately the path to happiness does not run smooth and many lessons are learnt on the way to the show’s dramatic final dance.

Dirty Dancing background

Penned by the original Dirty Dancing Screenwriter Eleanor Bergstein the musical recreates scenes and songs from the film with the addition of some newly-written material. Dirty Dancing has proven to be a slow-burning Hollywood Classic, enjoyed by millions and passed down through the generations.

Record breaker

Dirty Dancing the Musical has already broken box office records, taking £11 million in advance sales to become the fastest selling show in West End stage history.
