About Sister Act
Sister Act is back and this time it is on stage. The uplifting tale of everyone’s favourite nun-in-hiding, Deloris Van Cartier, has been turned into a divine new musical comedy, on stage at the London Palladium Theatre from June 2009 (with previews in May).
Show Story
When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder she is put in protective custody in the one place cops are sure she won’t be found - a convent! Disguised as a nun, Deloris finds herself at odds with the restrictive lifestyle and an uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breaths new life into the church and community, but in doing so blows her cover. Will she escape the villains?
Sister Act background
Based on the smash-hit movie, Sister Act features a brand new score by eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, whose credits include Little Shop of Horrors, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and more recently the hit movie Enchanted. Sister Act is a rip-roaring, life-affirming treat: definitely a musical to put in your diary for 2009.
