About We Will Rock You

THE THEATRICAL PHENOMENON!

Seen by over 10 million people worldwide, We Will Rock You is now storming into its 8th year and is the biggest rock theatrical event of the century! This sensational mega-hit phenomenon continues to raise the roof and bring audiences to their feet with rapturous standing ovations every night.

Created by Queen and Ben Elton, the show includes over 24 of Queen's classic hits, including Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga... and of course We Will Rock You

One Dream, One Vision...One Smash Hit!

Show story

We Will Rock You is set 300 years in the future on the Planet Mall, where mainstream commercial culture rules and the secret police ‘brainstorm’ people with any individuality. Two dreamers Galileo Figaro and Scaramouche yearn for more and guided by old hippy Pop they search for Queen’s guitar to set everyone free.

We Will Rock You Background

A musical of Queen’s songs had been planned from the mid 90s but it was Ben Elton who brought it to the stage. Instead of making a Queen biopic, Elton proposed an original story, able to capture the spirit of Queen’s music. He worked with Brian May and Roger Taylor on We Will Rock You and was part inspired by The Matrix.

A kind of magic

In August 2005, We Will Rock You became the longest running musical at the Dominion Theatre, beating previous record holder Grease. This is a real achievement as the Dominion is one of the largest theatrical venues in the West End, seating 2,000 people.
